BLACKACRE CONSERVANCY'S MISSION:
To Preserve Blackacre's natural and historic features, promote outdoor environmental education, and share Blackacre's cultural heritage with the community.
July 20, 2010
Blackacre was honored this past weekend by the John Combs Chapter of the Colonial Dames XVII Century. Over forty people turned out on Sunday for the installation of a beautiful bronze plaque recognizing the historic import of Blackacre's Double-Crib Appalachian-Style Barn. The Dames were joined by a color guard, the Isaac Shelby Chapter SAR, who cut a fine figure in their period uniforms.
